Do you know that you know that you know?

Reprint from previous blog

BTW:Since 'The Hoax of Good Friday', an article by Pastor/Evangelist Leo DeLorge started all this I thought it quite fitting that the title of another of his sermons one on confidence be used here. If you're wondering what all this is about, go read the 'Hoax of Good Friday and it's comments'.

There has been much pray and thought given to this reply. Since all this started I have been accused of several things one of which is 'not having the love of Jesus'. Love is telling the truth and that is all I've done., it would not be love to allow people to sit calmly in a burning building unaware of the fire about to consume them if I knew about it and did nothing. Ezekiel 33: 8. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. I have been accused of being a 'know it all' because I stand firm without waver on what I say. There's a reason or 2 for that. First, I know that I know, that I know what I know. Confidence. I know what the Scripture says and I stand boldly upon it. I will not waver, move , nor compromise this stand. 2 Timothy 2: 15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.Romans 15: 14. And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. I have been accused of calling someone a 'swine'. No, I didn't. I used a Scripture Matthew 7: 6. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. In this case 1st of all I was using this after someone else had used it. I was not being hateful nor anything to the likeness of that. This is just another example of someone taking Scripture and twisting it. What this is talking about is if you share God's Truth with some one and they refuse to hear it, then stop sharing because you are dishonoring God's Word (Jesus), after a point. The part about rending means they will get nasty with you when they've had all of the Truth they can stand. 2 Timothy 4:3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. I was accused of saying someone wasn't saved. I don't judge hearts, but I do as scripture says John 4: 1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. I must look upon all to see their works to see if they be of God or flesh. We are commanded to do so. This is so important because we live in such a 'religious' world with little true Christianity and the consequences are dire. Hebrews 9:27. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:. I must take a moment here to say that I am not a Baptist Brider, nor do I believe only Baptist make it to heaven (well, yeah I sorta do believe that because you can only be saved by repentance and faith and that is the Baptistic Doctrine, so I guess technically if you are saved you are a Baptist by technicality if you know it or not.) I do know people that I feel are saved beyond doubt, just that they are in wrong churches and therefore will never get more than salvation, no rewards for not obeying 2 Corinthians 6:17. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. I have also been accused of turning The Word of God (AKA:The Bible), into a dead writing instead of a living breathing document. That is 180 degrees from what I've been saying all along and is what most of this has all been about. The True Word of God is living and breathing while the Catholic text are dead, dead, dead! There is NO Holy Spirit in them. Never was, never will be just like Catholicism!

I also heard I was 'corrected' by my ally. I don't know where you get that. We agree on all the issues of salvation, and have some dissagreements on secondary issues. I wasn't corrected from what I see, we just don't agree in some areas that are not crucial to salvation. Now to answer those things from the blog comments.

Blog Entry: THE HOAX OF GOOD FRIDAY

What makes the King James "version" of the Bible the only "correct" translation? It is a translation afterall (named after an earthly King), and original Hebrew and Greek documents, (aka, the Dead Sea Scrolls!) weren't located until the 1900's, as well as other historically accurate texts. Wouldn't that mean that the King James translation is antiquated? I have actually been given tracts that somehow "prove" the KJV is more accurate than the NIV or some other translation, and do you know I found errors in the KJV?? The KJV uses italicized words in places because if something was unclear, then the writers guessed. There are actual contradictions within its own text because of that. THERE ARE NO CONTRADICTIONS IN THE KJV, ONLY MISUNDERSTANDING FROM NOT KNOWING IT. THERE ARE HOWEVER MANY IN OTHER TRANSLATION/INTERPRETATIONS/COMMENTARIES. Why do people always say they have found errors in the KJV yet they never list any?

Please don't tell Country Girl that she isn't reading the "right" Scriptures, as that is your opinion verses Biblical scholars and Theologians of our day. From my research, to date, the most literal word-for-word English translation of the original Greek and Hebrew text is the New American Standard, followed by the New Living Translation as a close second. well that goes back to basics. do you want the bible God ordained , the textus receptus or the catholic perversions?TRANSLATION/INTERPRETATIONS/COMMENTARIES based on the Alexandrian (not Koenig ,but classic Greek) text, the vaticainus and sianaticus(which disagree with each other over 5000 times and KJV 30000 times)? they where translated from Latin to Greek in late 1800 by Westcott and hort then translated/interpreted into English. . Actually I give little respect to many modern day scholars and theologians. most of them don't believe God gave us His word except in 'essence'. God put every word in the mouths of the original writers like dictation. no guess work on the writers part. He said His word would endure forever. He said His word was as fine gold. He said His word was for edification, doctrine, and establishing His kingdom. He said "By everyword that proceeds out of the mouth of God". You need to ask yourself something. Do you believe that Jesus as 2nd person of the Triune Godhead with all knowledge, including foreknowledge created all that has been created, even knowing he would have to suffer on the cross to safe our souls for eternity is so small He couldn't or wouldn't properly translate His word into our language in it;'s anteriority, correct, without error, for us to have as a guide line in life? Or do you believe He would allow all this confusion over which 'Bible' is correct? If you don't believe He can preserve His word for 1600 years, then accurately translate it into a language that He also created, I really wonder how you can believe He can preserve your soul for eternity. I'd hate to be in your shoes with all that doubt. And if you have 5 different text that say even 3 different things you have doubt. No way around it.

As for the 72 hours, if Jesus arose early Sunday morning, after having been entombed for 3 days and 3 nights... if he had been crucified on Wednesday, then that would have been 4 nights, not three. I count backwards from early Sunday morning, and get to Thursday's "day" as His crucifixion.
crucified wed, entombed before sundown wed, rose in 72 hrs on what we would call sat eve right after sundown.
All these numbers and theories don't change the fact that our Lord and Saviour was crucified, and He rose again on the third day. Many Christians celebrate that day on a Sunday, traditionally known as Easter. Whether the word, "Easter" is rooted from paganism, which I haven't studied, but I'll take your word for it, it doesn't really apply here. The pagan holiday and the timing of Passover happen to coincide. God knew that. Anyway, most Christians celebrate this day as the resurrection of our Lord. A glorious day for us!! Many Christians set aside "Good Friday" to remember his suffering and death, to remind ourselves of the penalty we would face ourselves save from the loving grace and mercy of our Lord. It is humbling and cleansing and freeing for me to recognize that even if it were just for me, Jesus would have walked that road. For just one soul. It is a day of remembrance. since we can only pinpoint 4 actual days of NT history, I'd just as soon honor them on the correct days or it becomes like the Monday holidays we have now. Palm Sunday, Day of Crucifixion (Wed), Resurrection (Sunday on Jewish calendar), and Pentecost. of course I celebrate nothing on Pentecost or palm Sunday. I may acknowledge them, but don't celebrate them. Just like we celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25th each year, knowing it wasn't the actual time and day of His birth... the whole REASON for our celebration is Jesus. So is Easter! It is about Him, not us and our silly theories and numbers. We should focus this much attention on our daily living. On what Jesus taught us... how to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Those are the two greatest commandments. We should focus on the teachings from Matthew 5, straight from the lips of Jesus, about all relationships we encounter. He didn't mention anything about numbers or calendars there. Let's read the parables and learn what God's Kingdom is truly about from them. While some of them mention talents and treasures, their meaning goes much deeper. If we follow the example of Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane... He was praying for us, right here, right now... because we are not One in Him.

I will have to respectfully agree to disagree with you on this one, Wes. I value accuracy, and I may even be convinced about Jesus actual death being a Wednesday, but at this point, I don't think it is crucial to my spiritual growth or the spiritual growth of my children. I can just explain to them, like we do for Christmas and other holidays, that there are historical discrepancies as to the exact dates and times, but we choose to set aside this day as a day of remembrance and celebration.
I do because error begats error. If the tool to get it right is there, we must use it or it is sin.

2 Timothy 3

1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4. Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

10. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11. Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Thank you for sharing your heart and for allowing me to share mine. We only know in part, and when we get to know it all in Heaven, we'll see a whole lot that we were wrong about!

Blog Entry: Thanksgiving. The only true Christian holiday

Actually, isn't it that John was called, "The Baptizer"? NOWHERE IN SCRIPTURE never called the baptizer always the 'Baptist' was called that because of what he did, not a doctrine he taught. (That is how last names started, to help differentiate who someone was talking about... because many first names were used often, like John, so there was John the Miller, John the Baker, John the 'Smith... so he was John the Baptizer.) That makes a big difference. I know how last names started and this is not the case here.He taught a doctrine of repentance and Baptism .

Also, John was born to be the forerunner to Jesus, the announcer of His coming, and we don't know much of his teachings, except those of
repentence and baptism. THIS IS 'THE DOCTRINE' He But Jesus certainly taught a lot more than that! After John baptized Jesus, we know very little of him, except his death. The reason for that is because his job was done. He announced the coming of the Messiah, to prepare the way for a new doctrine, not his own. Until Jesus died and was resurrected, all those people who did repent and were baptized by John still had to make sacrifices to atone for their sins. That didn't change until after Jesus was resurrected and became their atonement.STILL UNDER LAW WHICH IS WHY JESUS DID IT. Actually the sacrifices other than the first Passover where all symbolic. Christ was always the only atonement. The first Passover was a physical 1 time act of faith that was needed for sanctification that night alone. It a picture of the eternal atonement.

Whether Baptists today are considered a denomination or a doctrine,
THERE ARE BOTH. I think that is semantics. I have some very good friends who seem to have the same Baptist doctrine as yourselves...and they are wonderful people (SO DO MORMONS,AS FAR AS THE GODLY part IN APPEARANCE ANYWAY) . I think they live a very Godly life, and I admire that in them. I think we would disagree about a lot of what is considered Biblically correct doctrine, but that doesn't make either one of us right or wrong.ONLY SCRIPTURE DOES THAT I try to accept the whole Truth of Bible, not just what supports my beliefs. I MUST OFTEN ACCEPT THINGS THAT DON'T SUPPORT MY FLESHLY WISHES AND DESIRES I don't want to be right, but I want to live right according to what would please my Father in Heaven. This statement says a whole lot. How can you live right if you are wrong? He gave me the Bible and the Holy Spirit as tools to help me, and I rely on His input (via self study, prayer, pastoral teachings, other people, etc) to help me make the changes I need to in my daily living to become more and more like Christ. I think that is really all He expects of any of us.TRUE, if you really have them. I have stated before and I won't back of it. The other bibles are not of God, so how can The Holy Spirit be in them and guide you contrary to His Word, which is what he would be doing if He allowed you to study an incorrect text?

Blog Entry: THE HOAX OF GOOD FRIDAY

I usually use the new king james version, but for you I am using the old king james (1611). First of all,the verses you gave me don't say that Jesus was keeping sunday as the Lord's day, they just say he was talking and teaching his apostles after he rose from the grave. Just because he taught his Apostles does not mean he was keeping sunday, cause he taught his apostles everyday of the week ,they were with him almost all the time. And when He rose from the grave he went to see them so they would know he was alive. Second of all, the Sabbath was not only for the Jews, because the Jews didn't even exist until around Abraham's time. When God first gave us the Sabbath was in Genesis 2:1-3, there were no Jews at that time. And in Exodus 20:8-11 God gave the Sabbath commandment to the Isearlites (still no Jews yet). Now for the New Testament, the Sabbath was not only for the Jews in this verse Acts 13:42 "And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath."DID THIS TO TEACH THEM BECAUSE THEY WHERE THERE ON SABBATH,ALSO They taught in the Temple Everyday after the resurection. And in Acts 13:44 "And the next Sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God." The whole city is not only Jews, the Sabbath is for Everyone! Also in Luke 13:10 even Jesus was keeping the Sabbath in the New Testament, HAD TO FULFILL AND KEEP THE LAW. He was born a Jew and sent to fulfill the law which He did. "And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath." Do you belive in all the other commandments in the Ten Commandments? Why would God change one and not tell us in His word? SABBATH FOR MEN,NOT MEN FOR SABBATH When He says "Do not kill" He means it and when He says "Keep the seventh-day holy" He means it for everyone, just like all the other commandments. No where in the bible does it say that the Lord's Day or the Sabbath is on sunday, it is always on the seventh-day Sabbath!!! God bless you in your study and thanks for helping me to study for myself and find out why I believe the way I do. :)

This is the same error laden reasons that Sabbath keepers always give. Well actually ,no He didn't. The Law was given to Isreal, not the gentiles. The Sabbath was 1st given to men in Exodus. It originated at creation (Gen 2:1-3), but that was God's rest, not mans. There is no record of men keeping the Sabbath until Israel in the wilderness.Ne 9:13-14. Ex 31:12-18 says the Sabbath is a special sign between God and Israel. If it had been for mankind in general it couldn't be a sign for Israel. The fact is that the Sabbath belongs to the nation of Israel and not to other peoples. It is important to note that the Sabbath will be an eternal possession of Israel's (Ex 31:16), never to be annulled nor transferred to another peoples. The Apostles mention the Sabbath 3 ways. 1) Symbol of salvation rest in Christ. Heb 4 2)The NT believer is not bound to the Sabbath Col 2:9-17 3)NT believer has liberty in holy days. Rom 14. The Lords day and first day of the week are the same and this is when Christ resurrected, appeared to believers, ascended, and Pentecost. John was in the spirit Rev 1.

Something else about the Ten Commandments. God gave Moses 10. The leaders enlarged it to 613, then Jesus condensed it to 2.

Matthew 22:

35. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38. This is the first and great commandment.

39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets

2 Thessalonians 3:

13. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

14. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

15. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

2 Timothy 4:5. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
